LONG time!!

guess I really need to start keeping up here. Sorry I have been slacking little man! There is just so much going on right now with you if I blink I will miss it. Let's see here....

Teeth
your four eye teeth are through the gums now. Two of them are almost all the way up and the other two are about half way there. You have all your teeth. Although I think you are working on your second set of molars cause you are drooling like crazy.

Talking
The last couple days you have learnt a few new words and are starting to say some words more often. You will say the "e" in Daddy and Mommy now. We have heard you say Auntie, arriba (spanish), water (clear too), woof (clear as day!, nana (banana)and a couple others I can't think of right this second. You are trying to put more and more words together.

Appearance
Each morning you seem to change over night. Your face looks different. You don't look like a baby anymore. You look like my toddler. It has happened so fast. You only weigh about 24lbs. But are healthy and active. You are now 17 months.

Noisy sleeper
We are staying at Grammies right now watching the house while they are on a cruise. On Saturday night you let out a terrible scream sounding like you had a bad dream or something. So against my "better" judgement I went in and picked you up and cuddled with you and let you sleep beside me on the twin bed. You put your head on the pillow and it was so sweet. Your face was facing mine and I could feel your breath on my cheek. But I was too paranoid about you suffocating with the pillow to actually fall asleep myself. Then you would still be asleep but reach over and put your arm around my neck and go "mom" and then kiss me. It was so sweet. You are such a kissable boy and you love giving people kisses although some just don't want it. But then while sleeping you move SO MUCH. I remembered why we took you out of the bassinet at three weeks and put you in your own bed. hahaha.....you are a tosser and turner. You talk in your sleep and you act restless. Once you went to your own bed at 3 weeks we all slept better. But I just enjoyed the moment and held you close. It was pretty darn special.

You are really growing so fast before my eyes. Learning so much. You are just a little sponge. You soak up everything. The talking is getting more and more. The exploring is amazing. You know how to stack blocks and build with lego. It is really sweet and neat to watch. Well you want to play so time to go. Love you little man.

Hillarious way to wake up this morning

Daddy goes and gets you in the morning right now to help with the weaning. So from the next room I hear, let's go show Mommy. I am thinking, "oh great, what happened?" So in you two come. What do I see? A COMPLETELY nude baby! You took your diaper off last night. I didn't get any pictures though[:(]
So I go and check your crib and you must have had it off for a long time. The sheet was SOAKED, the bumper pad was wet on the side right up to the top and the bed skirt was wet too. I can honestly say this is the first time you have peed the bed. LOL. You must have been REALLY hot last night!

Amen!!

LOL! It is SO cute! Ever since you was tiny and first started solids, at 6 months, I would always say a prayer and thank God for your food and then end with, In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
I wondered what the point was in saying it so young but I continued. Then yesterday at lunch I said the prayer and then said Amen. You went 'amin'. Sue's Grandma heard it, and she can't hear all that well. She said, he said amen. I was like YAY! That means you heard it too. I wasn't crazy!
Then at dinner we said the same thing and Amen. You then proceded to say it clearer then before. Then would even say it on command.
I love you son! You are SO smart!! We can see you trying to put words together. You are trying really, really hard to get the right word out.
Oh and your top right molar has poked through the surface and the top left is coming through. Getting so darn big!

You are doing it!

You are signing. You will sing please, more, eat and done. Sure it is not the exact sign but when I ask you you get it and sign. When I praise you and tell you good boy you get all excited.
Your bottom left molar is in now. A few weeks ago Daddy and I came to get you out of your crib in the morning and daddy had just opened the blind and you pointed and said, "Dad di dat" Dad did that. We were so amazed!
You LOVE the pool. You have so much fun in it! You love the water fountain by our house too. It is so neat to see your interaction day by day. You still come to tell me if you need a diaper change.
You still continue to amaze me.....

Ok Little man.....

Mommy is SO PROUD of you! You have kicked the soother. No more soother for you. You are doing so well. You did great during the transition. You are getting better at falling asleep without it too.
You had your one year shots on Monday. (the 23rd) and you did well with that too! You got 4 shots. One in each arm and each leg. You did get a rash from the MMR shot but are doing fine now. The chicken pox one is the one I worry about. You *could* develop chicken pox. It could occur as soon as 10 days or as long as a month afterwards. I hope you don't get it!
You weigh 21lbs and are 29 and 1/4 inches long. Funny cause a year ago you were 7lbs 7ozs and only 19.5" long. My how time has flown!!

We have this old table we are taking to donate so it is out in the living room today cause we are taking it tonight. There is no glass in it but I turned around and this is what I saw............

I can't keep up!

You are learning so much so fast and I can't believe that you will be on in 4 DAYS!! Where did the time go!!
Over the weekend (April 6) you learned how to stand up from a sitting position. All on your own. Your lower right molar is half way through. I haven't recorded it yet but I think I will record it as a week ago. The date may be a bit off cause I didn't write it down right away.
You talk up a storm. Mostly baby babble but it is still cute.
Yesterday you did something really funny.
I don't normally wear shorts yet this time of year but I was wearing them around the house yesterday. My legs needed to be shaved though. So I was standing there and you were patting my legs cause it is all new to you. Then you thought the stubble was great fun and kept patting me. Then you looked closely and tried to pinch the hair and pull it off! It was so funny. Like you were trying to get rid of the stubble. HAHA.
You love swimming. We took you down to Birch Bay. Mommy, Daddy, Uncle Dennis and Auntie Sue. You loved the pool. You were having lots of fun in your floaty.



I've got some stuff to get together for your birthday party. We are having it at Auntie Sue's. She was so kind to let us host it there.
You practically run too sometimes. You rarely, if ever, crawl now.
I can't believe it has been almost a year!

you just got diagnosed with your first ear infection.

Cooper, Cooper, Cooper......

you are growing SO much! Since Sunday you have been letting go of furniture and taking those first wobbly steps. Your most amount of steps so far has been 4 or so. You will let go of furniture or whatever you were hanging onto and just stand there. For seconds on end.
Auntie Sue's futon is low to the ground, you even climbed up that just to get to her. You climb stairs like it is no effort what so ever. Which I find amazing in itself cause there is no stairs in our condo but one day at Auntie Sue's you just started going up them.
You are so smart. I can see it already. You are such a happy baby. I am so proud of you.

Yesterday I was nursing you and your legs were just going a mile a minute! Then you farted. Then without even taking your mouth away from the breast you smiled and laughed. Then I laughed. Then you giggled then stopped and went right back to eating.

YOU TOOK TWO STEPS about 15 minutes ago!!
I was sitting on the floor in front of your recliner in your room and you were standing. I was trying to read you a story but I gave up and let go. I was about to get all excited and clap cause you were standing then you shuffled two steps towards the recliner. THEN I was practically jumping up and down and clapping my hands all excited. Bummed that Daddy isn't here to share it with me but what can ya do!!
So I thought I would share it with you all!!

You got your sixth tooth on the 12th and your seventh on the 16th. You are just pushing them through!!!
You have been getting more and more daring at trying to stand without holding onto anything. It is so neat to watch you do that!!

YOu said your first sentence on the 23rd. You said Hi Dad. We were in walmart and Daddy was trying on some work shoes out of site from us. Then he stepped into site and you went HI DAD!! Daddy looked at me and asked, did he just say hi dad? and I said, I think so. A lady beside me said, oh yeah...He definately said hi dad. Cool. Your first sentence.
On the 31st you stood all by yourself for the first time. It was a whole 2 seconds but still. I saw you let go out of the corner of my eye. I went to reach for you and I think that is what startled you. I thought you were about to fall. But nope! You were testing your limits and seeing if you can stand.
WOW!!!

it totally knocks me off my feet in amazement.
You are almost too big to lay width wise in your crib. I remember when you were almost too small to lay that way. You looked so tiny in that crib.

more teeth!!

Yes, I got my two top teeth but I also got ANOTHER bottom one. Mommy says I am moving too fast. I am loving to stand. I crawl right to mommy or daddy. That is fun! Mommy or Daddy will just hollor when it is bath time and I come all the way to the tub.
Oh well, mommy says it is nap time. See ya all later!!

You really are a funny little boy. You are motoring around the house now. Got the worm crawl all figured out. You can go from sitting to tummy without bonking your noggin too hard. Actually I just looked over and you went from sitting to being on your hands and knees. You really are amazing! The amount of stuff you learn!! I will start the bath and call for you when you are in the living room. And the next thing I know I hear you grunting your way down the hall. All the way to the tub. It is so neat and fun. You continue to amaze me every day.
